About WIT

Women Institute of Technology, Dehradun is a Campus Institute of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University Dehradun which was established in September 2012 with the approval of the State Government and AICTE. It is the first Women-Only engineering institute in the state of Uttarakhand. The Government Order vide 1193/XLI-1/2011-56/10, dated 15.11.2011 constituted the framework of the college. Thereafter, W.I.T. started functioning w.e.f. September 1st, 2012 at the Dehradun campus.

The idea behind establishing the Institute was to empower women from rural and financially weaker sections of the society by providing technical knowledge and encouraging them to become confident & competent enough to meet the growing challenges of the professional world. In this aspect, W.I.T. has made tremendous progress by ensuring the availability of quality technical education to women students.

It gives me an immense pleasure and great pride to welcome you to the creative world of Women Institute of Technology, a constitute college of Uttarakhand Technical University situated in calm, serene and nature friendly environment of Dehradun. WIT has a very ecofriendly campus having state-of-the-art infrastructure. We have modern and well equipped labs, workshops and library to support students in achieving perfect standards in academics, research and professional skills. The campus has proper and adequate sports infrastructure and medical facilities to take care of girls coming from every strata of society with special needs. WIT is an educational institution for women who aim to achieve excellence in academics and other co-curricular activities for their all round development empowering then in every aspect of life.
