Women Institute of Technology, Dehradun is a Campus Institute of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University Dehradun which was established in September 2012 with the approval of the State Government and AICTE. It is the first Women-Only engineering institute in the state of Uttarakhand. The Government Order vide 1193/XLI-1/2011-56/10, dated 15.11.2011 constituted the framework of the college. Thereafter, W.I.T. started functioning w.e.f. September 1st, 2012 at the Dehradun campus. The idea behind establishing the Institute was to empower women from rural and financially weaker sections of the society by providing technical knowledge and encouraging them to become confident & competent enough to meet the growing challenges of the professional world. In this aspect, W.I.T. has made tremendous progress by ensuring the availability of quality technical education to women students.
