About Department
Introduction:-
Mechanical Engineering is considered to be the core branch in engineering. You can work related to mechanical system design, analysis, manufacturing maintenance using fundamental Physics principle and offers analytical solution to problem using Mathematical model. The design of this course aims to provide the basics and analytical skills which gives students valuable hands on industrial experiences.
Course Highlights:
The Outline of this course encourage the students to study the foundation of mechanics materials and energy, acquire technical skills such as computer aided design and learn how to test material & makes part for automobiles. It also provides wide scope of placements in industry that fascinates the students to opt for this course. The course is designed to help students for going further specialization courses such as production, thermodynamics, manufacturing and design.
Facilities:
The well equipped laboratory of Mechanical Engineering includes latest machinery that helps the students to gain more interest in the course :-
1. Manufacturing Labs.
2. Design Labs
3. Fluid Mechanic & Machinery Labs 4. Heat of Mass Transfer Labs
5. CAD/CAM Lab.
All these established labs encourage the students to understand their subjects.
What do you like about WIT ?
At the time of joining till now, I have observed that the goal of WIT is to develop well rounded Engineers as lifelong learning with the ability to adapt, grow and succeed in a highly competitive workplace.

Vision
The Mechanical Engineering Department is devoted to blossom into Centre of Excellence, competent engineers with high morale values to shoulder the responsibilities for the upliftment of the nation in terms of technologically, socially and culturally.
Mission
M1:Continuously updating the departmental resources, faculty and other infrastructure by gaining state of the art equipment and conducting quality enhancement training for faculty and supporting staff.
M2:To build an environment for highest quality education to the students to improve their capacity and enhancing their skills to make them globally competitive mechanical engineers.
M3:To introduce the feeling of unity and service to humanity, in the mind of students to serve the society better.
M4:To develop associations with world class organisations, educational institutions, industry and alumni for excellence in teaching and research.
PEO1. Graduates will have strong foundation in academic excellence, soft skills, managerial skills, leadership qualities and understand the need for lifelong learning for a successful professional career.
PEO2. Graduates will be engaged in ongoing learning and professional development through self-study, continuing education in mechanical engineering and also in other allied fields.
PEO3. Graduates will have aptitude to create awareness and understanding related to societal issues, apart from developing a sense of commitment to the community and profession with sincere involvement.
