About Departments

Considered as one of the core engineering disciplines. The civil engineering branch deals with designing surveying constructing and maintaining structural works. The engineers of this stream learn methods to identity, consume sustainably and natural resources. It also includes the construction and supervision of things that public use in daily lives like buildings, roads, water pipelines, bridges, dams, transmission tower, etc. and provides a better opportunity in career perspectives.

Course Highlights:

The course outline of the civil field program gives the fundamental knowledge and flexibility as it has different types of work to do like designing, surveying, and maintaining a structure, as well as it provides a better future for civil engineers. The purpose of this course is to make students learn to natural resources by preventing the environment.

Facilities:

The WIT campus is spread in a large area to provide space to the civil engineer to perform and learn their subjects. It enforces & supported by hands-on lab training in the labs:

  • Hydraulic Engineering Lab
  • Environmental Engineering Lab
  • Structural Engineering Lab
  • Geomatic Engineering Lab

Why did you choose this course at WIT?

We study in a very relaxed and amicable environment. The facilities are very supportive & motivate us to achieve what we want to achieve. In fact it is a best place to study with a natural nature around us.

Message from HoD’S Desk

The department of Civil engineering is one of the founding departments of WIT Dehradun established in 2012. The primary focus of the department is to empower women in the field of Civil engineering by providing quality technical education and developing constructive thinking with the analytical capabilities of every student. Our department is dedicated to provide students with a sound and inter-disciplinary fundamental engineering education and prepare them for research and industries. We also plan to develop entrepreneurial skills in students by providing professional supports so that they would lead the spirit of development and would be able to generate employment opportunities for other qualified and skilled people.

I look forward to preparing my students to face current and future technical challenges. Wishing all our students brilliant and bright future
